Lyre, Bordun

A very versatile instrument that is mainly used in groups. By tuning it in tones or chords, sound improvisations, song accompaniments etc. can be realised in the simplest way. The cross-stringing in bass and melody strings allows for tonal differentiation (light-dark) as well as tuning in different scales with drones.

Basic tuning: d’-e’fis’-g’-a’-h’-cis”-d”
Bass: d-a-a-d’-d’-d’
All strings can be retuned within a fourth.
