If you need to to buy strings for the Choroi lyre, it is important that you specify the right model.
First check how many strings should be on your instrument (count the tuning pins)
- 5 strings: dolfinlyre
- 7 strings: childrens harp (d1-e1-g1-a1-b1-d2-e2)
- 9 strings of equal length: prim-lyre
- 9 strings: kantele
- 12 strings: childrens lyre
- 16 strings: bordunlier
- 27 strings: small sopranolyre (g=lowest, a2=highest)
- 35 snaren: old model sopranolyre, sopranolyre (+student), large sopranolyre, sonora: (e=lowest, d3=highest) CAUTION each of these models has different string thicknesses! (see photo)
- 39 strings: old model sololyre, sololyre, solista (c=lowest, d3=highest) CAUTION different strings on the old model sololyre (see photo)
- 42 strings: tenor-altolyre (C=lowest, f2=highest)
- 43 strings: alto (B/D=lowest, a2=hoogste)
- 49 strings: discantharp c=lowest, c4=highest)
- 54 strings: harplyre (A=lowest, d3=highest)

However, an instrument may occasionally be modified to suit individual requirements.
